them: i say vol you say

me: tron uprising was a beautiful amazing award-winning show that deserves everything but for some reason tron uprising is the most unappreciated piece of animated media disney has made and no one knows it and good luck trying to find it anywhere cuz they took it off netflix and erased their site page and never made a dvd of it this gorgeous [dark as hell, for kids?? i dont think so] show will forever deserve the world and if they put it back on netflix i would love to see the voltron crowd jump into it because it would be so totally adored but for some ungodly reason tron is just going to wither and die and i dont understand this

Of course I’ve just spent the last half hour meticulously going frame-by-frame on the Scars preview! Why do you ask?

There may be a sequel to my “Long Ass Tron Post” in the works.

[trust]_Chell [Portal!AU]

jumpsuitedmonster:

profoundly-naive:

<< I should think She deemed that a weakness, especially after dealing with you. >> Quorra laughed. Oh yes, everyone knew about it. Funny how word traveled ‘round the derelict facility. << Cores clutter the processor–a constant headache. I remember when the scientists designed the plans for them. Why they thought of limiting an intelligence so… ‘phenomenal,’ appalls me. Would you like to have been born against your will, unable to think straight? –This is too dark for your lovely, useless eyes. Let me. >>

The droid had put an arm out across Chell’s chest, stopping her from moving further. The sound of a switch–Quorra’s eye sockets expelled a brilliant, golden light. Illuminated was a break in the track, and a treacherous fall below–part of the old offices, from the looks of it, and some sort of break room.

<< That sounds a touch ‘sympathetic,’ >> she continued, unfazed, << I am not sympathetic for Her anymore. But–part of me still misses Caroline. >>

Chell soldiered on, receding back into the comfort of silence as the retelling fell just short of a suggestive wink-nudge. Confronting Her was one of the few memories that had managed to escape the thorough mnemonic scrub of stasis–– something Chell often reflected on bitterly–– and only seemed to be growing more vivd with each unwanted recollection. As though the spiral of events took to chewing at the frayed synapses that had once cradled a childhood memory, disseminating throughout her mind like a cancer. A plague of malign nostalgia.

And something of an inside joke, apparently.

Would like to have been born against your will, unable to think straight?

Another memory, recent. Disorientation coming back with clarity. She swam through the neurological clouds, pieces coming together indeterminately. A room–– a strange new world. Small. Grim. Voices–– two. Interplaying, overlapping. Impassive courting frenzied. A flash of blue slicing through the shadows, making a paltry effort to enlighten the mind that hadn’t even the benefit to say it had been born yesterday.

Chell held her tongue.

No cores. That’s fine. At least we won’t have to risk a systems’ crash. She glanced over the pit, unseeing. There were other ways to stop Her, Chell knew. A core transfer–– no. She’d rather risk the explosion again. For all the fealties this new android swore, she wouldn’t let herself make that mistake. Not again.

“Is there another way to shut Her down?” she asked at length, scouting the horizon for a portal surface. A beat. “… Caroline?”

      << Oh, that’s right. I don’t suppose you knew her. Caroline. >>

Quorra covered Chell’s eyes as she scanned around them, the bright light from her eyes illuminating cracked cement and making eerie, sinewy shadows of the sparking wires. The movement likely shocked the girl, the feeling of cold metal pressed to her skin.

<< She was beautiful. –There and there, dear. I thought humans processed faster than this. >> Quorra had risen both arms, releasing Chell and pointing to two spots, one behind them and one farther down the track. Her eyes flickered dim, though the strange, golden glow remained in her pupils.

<< She was beautiful, >> she repeated, << in every way. You look at me like I cannot know what ‘beauty_’ is. I saw it in her. Every day. She spoke to me, sometimes. She fell in love with Science, and, yes, of course, We were all in love with her. >>

five-word sentences.

//Yeah pretty much. Reminds me of the hospital thread with @profoundly-naive. Crazy, crazy stuff.

That was a beautiful, beautiful thread.

Sometimes you have to ignore the human part of you to be okay with how things are.
